# Share links

> Share work with people who don't have a Pixio account

Share links let someone view your work without signing up. Each link carries its own token, so you're sharing one specific thing — not access to your account.

## What can be shared

| You share             | They see                        |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| **A generated asset** | The single image, clip, or file |
| **A board** | The board and its outputs |
| **A canvas**          | The canvas composition          |
| **A CamView scene** | The scene via its VCam link |

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the link">
    Share from the board, canvas, or asset you want to share.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send it">
    Anyone with the link can view it — no account, no sign-in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="They view, they don't edit">
    A share link is read-only. Recipients can't change your work or spend your credits.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Share links vs the gallery

| ------------ | ---------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Who finds it | Only people you send it to | Anyone browsing Pixio |
| Discoverable | No                                 | Yes                                                |
| Best for     | A client, a collaborator, feedback | Showing work publicly                              |
| Undo         | Stop sharing                       | Unpublish                                          |

Share a link for review. Publish to the gallery when you want the work seen.

## Security

<Warning>
  **A share link is a URL that works for whoever holds it.** There's no password and no per-person access list — if the link is forwarded, the recipient can view it too. Don't share anything confidential this way.
</Warning>

Practical guidance:

* Send links to specific people, not public channels
* Assume a shared link may be forwarded
* For a wide audience, publish to the gallery instead — that's what it's for
