Pixio Canvas lists the topmost layer first. Your ink is never flattened into a companion result: AI outputs, imported images, and tracing guides remain separate from drawing layers.
Editable drawing and tracing-guide layers in Pixio Canvas

Work with layers

Open Layers in the upper-right corner. From the panel you can:
  • Add a drawing layer or tracing stencil
  • Select the layer that receives new ink
  • Reorder layers up or down
  • Adjust visibility and opacity
  • Lock a reference or guide to prevent accidental changes
  • Rename or duplicate supported layers
  • Delete only the selected layer
When a companion request starts, Pixio Canvas reserves a result position at that moment. If you continue drawing while it processes, your newer ink stays above the returned result.
If your marks appear behind an image or guide, select or add a drawing layer and move it above that layer.

Undo and redo

The arrows at the bottom of the left dock move backward and forward through your editing history in order.
  • Undo removes the most recent change first.
  • Redo restores the next undone change.
  • If you undo and then make a new edit, that new edit becomes the current timeline and the abandoned redo branch is cleared.
  • A canceled or deleted in-progress companion turn cannot reappear later as a finished layer.
The menu also includes Undo AI Turn when a companion pass can be removed without walking through unrelated local edits.

Clear the canvas

The red trash button is grouped with Undo and Redo at the bottom of the left dock. It opens a confirmation before clearing the canvas. Clear Canvas is also available from the menu.

Clear Canvas removes the current canvas contents after confirmation. To remove only one item, delete its layer instead.

Local Library and Pixio Library

  • Library contains canvases autosaved in Pixio Canvas on this iPad.
  • Pixio Library contains cloud assets belonging to the connected Pixio API-key account.
Changing keys changes which account-scoped cloud assets appear, but it does not replace the local canvases stored on the iPad.
